The child was collecting donations at a car wash to help pay for a funeral for a grandmother who had recently passed. Fresno Police Officers said the child wasn’t in the crosswalk but may have been near the median when they were struck by the car.
The driver of the car was traveling east on Abby Street, crossing Belmont Avenue on a green light, when it hit the child. The driver pulled over and cooperated with police officers. Authorities do not believe drugs or alcohol were a factor in this accident. It is currently being investigated.
