Daniel Magana struck and killed on 60 Freeway in Chino.

Chino, CA (October 22, 2024) Covina resident, Daniel Magana, was struck and killed by a vehicle while walking on the 60 Freeway on Friday evening, October 11th, 2024. The 27-year-old pedestrian was struck at approximately 7:30 p.m., according to police reports.

The sun had set over an hour ago, as 27-year-old Daniel Magana walked along the 60 Freeway in Chino. As he walked along the dark street, vehicles passed him. Suddenly, for reasons that remain unknown, one vehicle got too close to Magana and struck him. The impact threw him several feet before he landed on the ground with a hard thud.

The California Highway Patrol arrived at the scene and found Magana on the ground. They began administering life-saving techniques, but it was too late. Magana had been killed by the impact and, with heavy hearts, authorities pronounced the 27-year-old pedestrian dead at the scene.

Officers are working to determine what happened on the 60 Freeway that evening that claimed a pedestrian’s life.
