Las Vegas, NV (October 9, 2024) A 64-year-old pedestrian named Daohuan Rao was critically injured when an SUV struck him while he was walking across W. Sahara Avenue.
The crash occurred on September 30 at about 1:38 p.m. at the private drive intersection of Palace Station. Officers reported that a Chevrolet Suburban was heading southbound and attempting a left onto W. Sahara Avenue with a green traffic signal.
Rao was crossing the street right at this time, and the Chevy struck him. Paramedics rushed him to the hospital, where he remains in critical condition as of the latest reports.
The Chevy driver cooperated with the investigation and was not found to be impaired. LVMPD reports that Rao had been crossing the street “in or around the marked crosswalk on the east side of the intersection.”
