Berkeley, CA (October 4, 2024) A 69-year-old man was tragically killed when he was pinned beneath a vehicle early Wednesday near Aquatic Park.
Authorities were alerted about a person who appeared to be pinned underneath a car near a roundabout. Police arrived around 4:32 a.m. and reported that the driver had run over the victim.
The circumstances surrounding the collision are unclear at this time. We don’t yet know when the initial crash happened, how long the victim was pinned underneath the vehicle, or if any other factors were involved.
The motorist was arrested for driving under the influence, causing bodily injury, driving a vehicle without a valid license and gross vehicular manslaughter.
