Palm Springs, CA (November 7, 2023) Erasto Dominguez-Castro, 61, from Colorado, was struck and killed by a vehicle on Interstate 10 in Palm Springs on Monday evening, November 6th. The California Highway Patrol Public Information Officer, David Torres, told City News Service that the collision occurred near State Route 62 around 6:07 p.m.

Reports indicate that Dominguez-Castro was standing on Interstate 10 when he was struck by a vehicle. Officer Torres said in a statement, “Suddenly, a Nissan Maxima traveling in the number 4 lane crashed into (Dominguez-Castro) causing fatal injuries.” The Riverside County Coroner’s Office was called to the scene and later released the man’s identity, once his next of kin had been notified of his passing in the accident.
The driver of the Nissan, a man from Arcadia, was uninjured in the collision. The No. 4 lane was closed for a while as authorities investigated the collision. Authorities are trying to figure out why Dominguez-Castro was standing in the middle of the Interstate 10 Freeway in Palm Springs.
