SOUTH LOS ANGELES, CA (May 13, 2022) – Video surfaced online of Hector Castro Hirales, a 75-year-old man, being struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver on April 27.
Around 9:15 p.m. on Trinity Street and 41st Place, a small silver SUV turned left into Hirales as he was crossing the street. The driver made no effort to stop and help Hirales, and instead sped off as shown in surveillance video.
Hirales was taken to the hospital where he unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.
There is currently a reward of $50,000 for any information leading to the suspect.
Mr. Hirales was a grandfather to 10, and a great grandfather to two. His family are pleading with anyone who has additional information regarding the death of their loved one to come forward and aid the police.
