Jake Huard Killed, Woman Injured In Glendale Crash

Passenger killed, two others injured in head-on Lancaster crash.

Glendale, CA (August 19, 2024) A young man was tragically killed in a terrible accident on Friday, August 16 on the 134 Freeway in Glendale.

The crash was reported around 11:41 p.m. A Mitsubishi was stopped in a middle lane west of Pacific Avenue for unknown reasons. The front-seat passenger, 24-year-old Jake Huard, opened his door and got out of the car.

As he stood next to the stalled vehicle, a Mazda approached in the same lane at “speeds greater than 65 mph in light traffic conditions,” officers reported. The Mazda slammed into the stalled vehicle and struck Huard, who was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Mitsubishi, a 19-year-old Pasadena woman, sustained major injuries in the crash. The driver of the Mazda sustained minor injuries.
