Arlington, TX (December 15, 2023) 10-year-old Liyah-Grace Holsey was struck and killed by two vehicles while crossing the street in Arlington on Thursday afternoon, December 14th. Officers with the Arlington Police Department said the accident occurred just before 4:00 p.m. at the intersection of Sublett Road and Park Springs Drive.
The Arlington Police Department received the call about an automobile versus pedestrian accident involving a child and rushed to the scene. Paramedics rushed to the girl’s side and found her still alive, but with life-threatening injuries. She was rushed to a local hospital in critical condition where she later died.

Upon investigating the accident, officers believe Holsey was trying to cross the street from the north side of Sublett Road to the south side when she was hit by one vehicle and then another. Both drivers stopped and waited for officers to arrive at the scene and they both cooperated with the investigation. As of now, no criminal charges have been filed.
Holsey was a 5th grade student at Mary Moore Elementary and the entire community is mourning the loss of this child. The school is providing additional counselors to help students deal with this tragic loss.
