Tulare County, CA (December 15, 2023) Nelva Beltran, 24, was walking to work with her mother when a vehicle struck Beltran and then drove away, according to the California Highway Patrol. The fatal accident happened just before 6:00 a.m. on Avenue 8 and Road 208.
Nelva and her mother both worked at Famous Cold Storage in Richgrove, their family said. Nelva’s mother told authorities that the driver of the vehicle looked to be in his 30s. He was driving a Chevrolet Silverado extended cab pickup truck that is believed to be a metal blue color, California Highway Patrol Officer Mike Salas said.

When emergency crews arrived at the scene, they found Nelva already dead. Sadly, she was pronounced dead at the scene. Her family is devastated and she is greatly missed.
Authorities are doing everything they can to find the suspect and bring justice Nelva Beltran’s family. Officer Salas said, “It’s hard to just fathom how another human being can just leave an innocent victim on the side of the road.”
This accident is still under investigation and authorities hope to find the suspect soon.
