Rancho Dominguez, CA (March 29, 2024) Tragedy struck the area of Rancho Dominguez in California on Thursday, March 28th. 51-year-old Nicole Cook was fatally struck by a vehicle, according to officers. The deadly accident occurred right around 5:30 a.m. on South Santa Fe Avenue.
The sun had yet to rise over California as Nicole Cook walked along the 19500 block of South Santa Fe Avenue. She wasn’t far from Del Amo Boulevard when a vehicle approached her. For reasons still unknown, the vehicle struck Cook in the area of Rancho Dominguez, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Officers with the California Highway Patrol arrived quickly to the scene and found Nicole Cook lying on the ground with life-threatening injuries. It is unknown if the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene following this fatal accident. Paramedics did everything they could to try and save Cook, but she sadly succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The accident continues to be investigated as officers try and determine what actually happened in the unincorporated area of Rancho Dominguez.
