The accident left the pedestrian with life-threatening injuries and they were airlifted to a trauma center. A Chevy sedan was traveling through Phelan and approached the intersection of Sheep Creek Road and Cholame Road on the night of August 4th. As they neared the intersection, they struck a pedestrian who had been walking in the area, reports indicated. The pedestrian was thrown several feet before landing on the ground, sustaining life-threatening injuries in the process. The driver of the Chevrolet immediately stopped and called authorities.

The California Highway Patrol and the San Bernardino County Fire Department arrived at the scene and found the Pedestrian on the ground. The driver of the vehicle was standing at the scene, waiting for officers arrival. Paramedics evaluate the victim and called for a medical helicopter to come to the scene. Mercy Air 22 landed at the scene and quickly transported the victim to an out-of-area trauma center to receive treatment. The pedestrian remains in critical conditions, according to reports.
