It was just before sunrise in San Diego, California, as a 57-year-old woman walked along Federal Boulevard on Thursday, August 29th. She began crossing the street within a marked crosswalk, near Euclid Avenue, when a vehicle suddenly struck her. The force from the impact knocked her several feet, where she landed on the ground with life-threatening injuries. The driver of the vehicle didn’t stop, but instead, hit the gas and fled the scene.

Officers arrived at the scene and found the woman on the ground with life-threatening injuries. According to reports, the woman suffered a pelvic fracture as well as a brain bleed. Paramedics rushed her to the nearest hospital to receive emergency treatment.
Investigators are working to determine what type of vehicle struck the pedestrian and then fled the scene. They are also determined to find the driver responsible and bring him or her to justice for this horrible accident.
