Sacramento, CA (November 8, 2023) A pedestrian tragically lost their life on Monday, November 6th, when they were struck by a car, according the Sacramento Police Department. The accident occurred just before 9:00 p.m. near Winterhaven Avenue and Northgate Boulevard.

Police officers said they arrived at the scene to find an unresponsive man lying in the roadway. They immediately began life-saving procedures as they waited for the Sacramento Fire Department to arrive. They didn’t stop providing life-saving measures until the paramedics were on the scene. Once paramedics arrived, they rushed the man to the nearest hospital with life-threatening injuries. He was later pronounced dead at the hospital by medical personnel.
The driver of the vehicle that hit the man remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities. He was not injured in this accident. Officers are still unsure exactly what happened, nor do they know why the man was in the roadway. Detectives with the Police Department’s Major Collision Investigation Unit also responded to the scene. Reports stated that the officers canvassed the area, spoke to witnesses, and gathered evidence. They are conducting an investigation to try and figure out what exactly happened in north Sacramento.
