Fullerton, CA (February 14, 2024) A February evening in Fullerton turned deadly when a pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle on Orangethorpe Avenue. It is an accidental tragedy that happens far too often on our roads. Heartbreak spread through the community as word of this tragic accident spread.
It was Tuesday evening, February 13th, as a pedestrian made their way across Orangethorpe Avenue at the intersection of South Basque Avenue. They were making their way across the street when a Nissan Kicks drove through the intersection and hit them. The pedestrian sustained life-threatening injuries in this horrible accident.
Emergency crews rushed to the scene where they found the pedestrian on the ground in the middle of the road. The driver of the vehicle, a 53-year-old woman, remained at the scene and cooperated with police officers following this collision.
Paramedics hurried to give life-saving aid to the pedestrian but all of their efforts weren’t enough to save the pedestrian. Authorities pronounced them dead at the scene shortly after. Investigators gathered evidence at the scene and are working to determine what caused this horrible collision in Fullerton that claimed someone’s life. At this time, officials do not believe drugs or alcohol were factors in this fatal accident.
