Who Is Responsible In An Orland Pedestrian Accident?
Pedestrian accidents leave thousands of people dead or seriously injured each year. The Centers for Disease Control states, “An estimated 137,000 pedestrians were treated in the emergency departments for nonfatal crash-related injuries in 2017. Per trip, pedestrians are 1.5 times more likely than passenger vehicle occupants to be killed in a car crash.”
Several factors can cause a pedestrian-related accident. These include drunk driving, speeding, distracted driving and even inclement weather. Every driver is legally obligated to try their best, while driving a motor vehicle, to avoid hitting pedestrians. The family of any victim who died in a pedestrian accident could have legal recourse through a wrongful death claim. An attorney can look at all of the facts of your case and let you know what legal options you have.
