Sacramento County, CA (October 23, 2024) A hit-and-run left a pedestrian with major injuries in southeast Sacramento County on Monday evening, October 21st. The pedestrian was struck around 7:26 p.m. on Power Inn Road, near Florin Road.
Minutes before 7:30 p.m. on Monday, October 21st, a pedestrian walked south on Power Inn road in southeast Sacramento County. As they walked, a vehicle approached and, reportedly, ran a red light at the intersection of Florin Road and Power Inn Road. The vehicle then struck the pedestrian, violently knocking them to the ground. The driver then hit the gas and fled the scene, leaving the pedestrian behind with serious injuries.
The California Highway Patrol arrived at the scene, along with a local fire department, and found the victim on the ground. They were alive, but badly injured. Paramedics rushed the person to a local hospital to receive emergency treatment for unspecified injuries.
Officers are working to determine what type of vehicle struck the pedestrian at that Sacramento intersection. They are diligently working to locate the vehicle and, in doing so, also locate its driver. Leaving the scene of an accident is illegal and officers are determined to bring the driver to justice.
