Pedestrian Killed By Hit-and-Run Scooter Rider In L.A.

1 killed, 2 injured in pedestrian accident that led to a car accident on I-5 in Ventura.

Los Angeles, CA (September 24, 2024) A woman on a scooter slammed into a pedestrian on September 12 and fled the scene. The pedestrian tragically passed away from their injuries.

The crash happened at around 4:50 p.m. on James M. Wood Boulevard near Westmoreland Avenue in Los Angeles.

“The Los Angeles Police Department reported that a female and a male were riding separate motorized scooters…The female collided into a pedestrian walking on the sidewalk, causing her to fall off the scooter and the pedestrian to fall onto the ground. The female picked up the scooter and fled the scene, following the male, eastbound (on) James M. Wood Boulevard without identifying herself or rendering aid to the pedestrian, as required by law.”

The pedestrian was reportedly rushed to the hospital by family members, but he succumbed to his injuries while there. Police are seeking the person who hit the victim and left the scene.
