Pittsburg, CA (January 9, 2024) 36-year-old Tony Weems was struck and killed in the 1200 block of Railroad Avenue by a female driver who fled the scene. The fatal collision occurred on Saturday, January 6th, not far from Central Avenue, according to authorities.

The pedestrian, identified as a 36-year-old Tony Weems, was struck by a vehicle, driven by a 42-year-old woman. After hitting Weems, the woman hit the gas and fled the scene, leaving Weems alone to suffer in the roadway. He was still alive, but suffering from life-threatening injuries when paramedics arrived. They rushed him to a nearby hospital to receive treatment, but unfortunately, he never made it to the hospital. Weems died on the way to the hospital, with paramedics at his side.
Upon an investigation, officers found the driver of the vehicle that hit Weems and then fled the scene. The 42-year-old woman, a Pittsburg resident, was arrested and booked into the Martinez Detention Facility.
