Westminster, CA (October 28, 2024) A pedestrian was tragically struck and killed by a vehicle in Westminster on October 21st. The collision occurred near Yockey Street and Westminster Boulevard, around 10:18 p.m., according to reports. Following the collision, the driver of the vehicle fled the scene.
It was approximately 10:18 p.m. in Westminster as a male pedestrian approached Yockey Street and Westminster Boulevard. Suddenly, an approaching vehicle, described as a newer model, dark-colored sedan, hit the pedestrian. The driver did not stop, but hit the gas and fled the scene, according to reports.
The Orange County Fire Authority was the first to arrive at the scene and found the victim on the ground. They began life-saving treatment, but the victim’s injuries were too severe. Sadly, officials pronounced the victim dead at the scene and called for a coroner.
Officers gathered every piece of evidence they could find at the scene and are determined to find the vehicle responsible. They are also working to find the driver who fled the scene after hitting the pedestrian.
