MORENO VALLEY, CA (June 18, 2024) A pedestrian was killed today on the Moreno Valley Freeway, the 60, shortly before 11 a.m. Enrique Ruiz, a 43-year-old man, was hit by a car near Frederick Street.
It is reported that a truck struck Ruiz, who was walking in the westbound No. 1 lane.
Riverside County Fire Department emergency personnel were dispatched to the scene. They were assessing the situation at about 11:20 a.m. At 11:48 a.m., reports confirmed they had pronounced the victim dead. Officers shut down the lanes near the scene, bringing all westbound traffic to a stop. However, the HOV lane was reopened shortly after.
