Pedestrian Seriously Injured In Fairmont Park Hit-And-Run In San Diego

Pedestrian killed on the 110 Freeway in Wilmington.

Fairmont Park Neighborhood, San Diego, CA (March 4, 2024) A late night walk took a turn for one pedestrian in the Fairmont Park neighborhood of San Diego on Friday. Officers said the pedestrian was in his mid-40s and was struck by a vehicle that quickly fled the scene. The accident took place on Home Avenue at approximately 11:25 p.m.

When the pedestrian was hit, the sound could be heard by people in the area, officers said. A good Samaritan who heard the crash, went to check it out. They called 911 and told the dispatcher that there was a man lying in the roadway. However, once police officers arrived, the vehicle that had hit the pedestrian was nowhere to be found. The person who called 911 told police officers that they did not see the accident occur, only heard it, and didn’t have a description of the vehicle at fault.

Paramedics rushed to the pedestrian’s side and discovered he had sustained a brain bleed and lacerations to his head and hands. He was rushed to a local hospital to receive treatment for serious injuries, but emergency medical personnel said he should make a full recovery.

Investigators at the scene gathered evidence and are determined to figure out what car hit the pedestrian. Their goal is to find the driver of the vehicle and bring them to justice. It is illegal to leave the scene after hitting someone with your vehicle. We must all work together to make our roads safer.

Our team at Accident News Now wishes a speedy and full recovery to the pedestrian who was injured in this hit-and-run crash.
