Pedestrian Struck, Critically Injured In Watsonville Accident

Pedestrian struck and killed by hit-and-run driver on Old Highway 18 in Apple Valley.

Watsonville, CA (October 14, 2024) A pedestrian was critically injured in what officers are referring to as “a violent traffic accident” in Watsonville. It all happened just before 10:00 a.m. on Freedom Boulevard, not far from Miles Lane. The victim remains in critical condition, according to officers.

It was an October morning in Watsonville as a pedestrian walked along the town’s streets. At approximately 9:50 a.m., a vehicle approached the pedestrian on Freedom Boulevard. For reasons that are unknown, the vehicle struck the pedestrian, knocking the victim to the ground.

Authorities with the Watsonville Police Department quickly arrived at the scene and found the pedestrian on the ground with life-threatening injuries. They requested an ambulance and quickly closed a section of Freedom Boulevard. The pedestrian was rushed to a nearby hospital, where they remain in critical condition, according to reports. Officers are working to determine what caused this accident in Watsonville.
