    Pedestrian Struck, Injured By Vehicle In Eureka

    Eureka, CA (June 14, 2024) Shock and concern swept through the community of Eureka as news spread of a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle. The accident occurred between Harris Street and Walford Avenue on Friday, June 14th. Officers with the California Highway Patrol reported that the collision occurred at approximately 11:45 a.m. in Humboldt County and left the pedestrian injured.

    It was almost noon in Eureka, California. Vehicles drove along the city streets and pedestrians and bikers also headed to and from destinations. Suddenly, between Harris Street and Walford Avenue, a pedestrian was struck by at least one vehicle, officers reported. Reports indicated that a Toyota RAV4 and a Honda Fit were both stopped at the scene and one of the vehicles reportedly had a busted windshield. Officers are not exactly certain what caused this pedestrian accident in Eureka or how the pedestrian came to be struck.

    Police Officers and paramedics arrived at the scene and found the pedestrian lying on the ground. The two vehicles were stopped at the scene and people directed emergency crews toward the pedestrian. Paramedics hurried to the pedestrian’s side, ready to administer life-saving treatment, if needed. The pedestrian was taken to a local hospital to receive treatment for injuries they sustained during the accident. reports indicated.

    Witnesses and those involved in the accident gave police officers their statements at the scene. Officers also gathered information and are trying to piece together what happened on this road in Eureka. A tow truck was called to come to the scene and remove at least one of the damaged vehicles from the roadway. Glass from the collision also had to be swept up and removed from the road. Officers continue to investigate this collision to determine cause and fault.
