The senseless accident transpired on Florin Road, not too far from Morrison Creek Drive, according to reports. It happened at approximately 7:50 p.m. and the driver of the vehicle fled the scene following the collision, leaving the pedestrian with injuries.
A pedestrian walked along Florin Road in Parkway on Thursday evening, June 13th. As they walked, vehicles passed them with no issues. Suddenly, a vehicle approached and, for reasons still unknown, struck the pedestrian as they walked. The force from the impact knocked the pedestrian to the ground and left them with serious injuries. However, the driver of the vehicle didn’t stop to offer aid or even call for help after striking the pedestrian. Instead, they hit the gas and fled the scene, officers reported.
Officers arrived at the scene and found the pedestrian lying on the ground with serious injuries. Paramedics hurried to the victim’s side, ready to give life-saving treatment, if needed. The pedestrian was carefully loaded into an ambulance and taken to a local hospital to receive treatment for serious injuries, reports indicated.
The accident caused traffic to back up on Florin Road as officers investigated the scene. Motorists were encouraged to take alternate routes until the investigation had ended. Investigators are hoping to determine what kind of vehicle struck the pedestrian and, in finding the vehicle, they hope to find the driver responsible. Officers want to remind drivers that it is illegal to flee the scene of a crime.
