San Diego, CA (November 2, 2023) A pedestrian was injured on Tuesday, October 31st, after being struck by a vehicle on Market Street in San Diego. According to the San Diego Police Department, the collision occurred shortly before 10:00 p.m. in the Sherman Heights area of San Diego.
A 40-year-old man was walking in the roadway on Market Street in Sherman Heights. Police officers said the man entered the roadway against a red light. At the same time, a 20-year-old male, driving a 2005 Infiniti G35 coupe, was heading west on Market Street, near 25th Street. The driver crossed the intersection on a green light and struck the pedestrian in the intersection.

Emergency crews received the call about the pedestrian accident and arrived at the scene on Market Street within minutes. Upon arrival, they found the 40-year-old pedestrian lying on the roadway, suffering from life-threatening injuries. Paramedics responded quickly and rushed the man to a local hospital to receive treatment for a brain bleed and a fractured pelvis.
The driver of the Infiniti remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities. The San Diego Police Department’s Traffic Division is leading the investigation of this accident. They do not believe, at this time, that drugs or alcohol were factors in this collision.
