Stockton, CA (October 25, 2023) A pedestrian was struck and killed by a semi-truck on Interstate 5 in Stockton on Saturday morning, October 21st, according to the California Highway Patrol. The tragic accident occurred at approximately 6:16 a.m. near the Fremont Street off-ramp.
It happened on southbound Interstate 5 when a semi-truck, traveling down the freeway, struck a pedestrian. The victim fell on the roadway and was then hit by several other cars on the freeway. The semi-truck stopped and waited for the police, as did the other cars who ran over the victim after the initial collision.

Emergency crews arrived at the scene and found the victim lying motionless on the freeway. Paramedics arrived to administer aid but pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene. Authorities were forced to close three lanes of the freeway following the collision.
The California Highway Patrol’s Stockton Office is investigating the accident. They are unsure as to whether or not alcohol or drugs were factors in this collision and are trying to determine what exactly happened on the Interstate 5 Freeway in Stockton.
