Pedestrian Struck, Killed On 110 Freeway, South Los Angeles

Los Angeles, CA (October 20, 2024) A devastating accident occurred in Los Angeles this morning, according to City News Service. Just before 4:00 a.m. on Sunday morning, October 20th, 2024, a pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle on the Harbor (110) Freeway. It happened in the southbound lanes, near West Century Boulevard.

It was early in Los Angeles at 3:50 a.m. on Sunday morning. The sun had yet to rise, leaving the streets blanketed in darkness, as a pedestrian walking along the Harbor (110) Freeway. Suddenly, a vehicle stuck the pedestrian, knocking the person to the ground. The driver of the vehicle immediately stopped and called 911, according to authorities.

Emergency personnel arrived at the scene and found the pedestrian on the ground with fatal injuries. They issued a SigAlet and officers closed the No. 1 and No. 2 lanes of the southbound freeway. Officials pronounced the victim dead at the scene and requested a coroner.

The scene remained closed for approximately two hours as officers investigated the scene and worked to determine what exactly caused this fatal pedestrian accident.
