Pedestrian Struck, Killed On Highway 198 In Armona

Armona, CA (September 11, 2024) Tragedy struck the community of Armona in Kings County on Tuesday night, September 10th, 2024. A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle on Highway 198 at the 14th Avenue intersection. It transpired around 8:30 p.m., according to reports,

A woman, roughly 55 years old, was driving a Kia east on Highway 198 on Tuesday night. As she drove, a man began crossing the street. The driver hit the brakes, but it was too late. She struck the pedestrian, knocking him to the ground with heavy force. The woman driving the Kia immediately stopped and called for help, reports indicated.

Emergency personnel arrived and found the man on the ground with life-threatening injuries. He was rushed Adventist Medical Center Hanford to receive emergency treatment. The medical staff did everything they could to save the pedestrian but his injuries proved too severe. He succumbed to them and was, sadly, pronounced dead at the hospital.

Officers continue to investigate this accident and are determined to understand what exactly happened on Highway 198 in Armona that night.
