Los Angeles, CA (July 23, 2024) A man is now mourning the loss of his girlfriend following a horrible hit-and-run accident in South Los Angeles. The couple was walking around 1:30 a.m., when a dark-colored Toyota killed his girlfriend, reports indicated. The fatal accident occurred on La Cienega Boulevard, not far from Obama Boulevard.
A couple were walking through the streets of South Los Angeles in the middle of the night. They began crossing La Cienega Boulevard at approximately 1:30 a.m. As they crossed, a dark-colored Toyota Camry approached them, but didn’t slow down. Without any warning, the vehicle struck the woman, knocking her to the ground. It barely missed the man as it continued down the roadway, fleeing the scene.
The man mourned as he stayed by his girlfriend’s side and waited for emergency personnel. Officers arrived to find that the woman had succumbed to her injuries. With heavy hearts, and a heart-broken boyfriend, they pronounced the woman dead at the scene.
Sgt. Kevin Ahlemeir reported that the vehicle left evidence behind at the scene. Officers have collected this evidence and taken a statement from the man and are determined to find the Toyota responsible for this traumatic and horrible death. Officers are determined to find the driver responsible for this accident and bring him or her to justice.
Update: The victim has been identified as 40-year-old Yvonne Parks.
