Pedestrian Struck, Seriously Injured By Hit-And-Run Driver In Lake Tahoe

Pedestrian struck and killed in Salinas.

Lake Tahoe, CA (July 21, 2024) Saturday afternoon, July 20th, took a turn for a pedestrian in South Lake Tahoe. A hit-and-run driver struck the pedestrian at approximately 4:30 p.m. on Al Tahoe Boulevard, officers reported. The driver fled the scene and officers are actively trying to find them.

A blue Subaru Forester, driven by an older man, was driving down Al Tahoe Boulevard in South Lake Tahoe, when it struck a pedestrian. The Subaru quickly fled the scene, according to witnesses, leaving the pedestrian alone and injured on the side of the road.

Officers received the 911 call and hurried to the scene. They found the pedestrian lying on the ground with serious injuries. It was obvious the pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle, officers reported. Witnesses at the scene told officers that they saw a vehicle with a Nevada license plate flee the scene. Paramedics quickly loaded the pedestrian into an ambulance and rushed them to a local hospital to receive treatment for their injuries.

Officers gathered as much evidence as they could as the scene and took statements from witnesses. They are determined to find the vehicle that struck the pedestrian in South Lake Tahoe and, in doing so, hope to find the driver responsible. They are asking that anyone with information regarding this accident call the South Lake Tahoe Police Department non-emergency line at (530) 542-6100.
