San Diego, CA (July 31, 2024) A motorcyclist hit a pedestrian in San Diego on Tuesday night, July 30th. The accident left the pedestrian with serious injuries, officers reported. It all happened in the Mdiway neighborhood on Sports Arena Boulevard around 11:16 p.m.
Initial reports indicated that the 54-year-old pedestrian was walking in the 4000 block of Sports Arena Boulevard, heading east. At the same time, a 41-year-old man was on a 2013 Yamaha motorcycle was heading down the same street when the pedestrian suddenly stepped in front of the motorcycle. The impact knocked the rider off the motorcycle, officers reported. He was found on the ground, unconscious. The pedestrian was also knocked down.

Emergency personnel arrived at the scene and found the pedestrian with serious injuries, including a fractured femur. The motorcyclist was still on the ground, unconscious, officers reported. Paramedics arrived at the scene and transported the pedestrian to a local hospital to receive treatment. There is no work as to whether the motorcyclist was taken to a local hospital or treated at the scene.
