TUSTIN, CA (OCTOBER 2, 2023): A pedestrian was fatally struck while crossing the 55 Freeway in Tustin Monday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred at around 11:35 a.m. on the northbound side of the Freeway, just south of 4th street.

Circumstances regarding the nature of the collision have not yet been made available. The CHP indicates that the Tustin Police Department was involved in the accident to some extent.
Footage from the scene reveals a silver Tayota Tacoma with major front-end damage, presumably the vehicle that struck the pedestrian.
The identity of the deceased is being witheld pending notification of their next of kin.
Authorities continue to investigate this fatal pedestrian accident on the 55 Freeway.
