Pregnant Woman In Critical Condition, Loses Baby, In Fairfield Pedestrian Accident

Pregnant woman struck by vehicle in Fairfield, loses baby and left in critical condition.

Fairfield, CA (September  26, 2024) A pregnant woman was struck by a vehicle in Fairfield on Tuesday evening, September 24th. The woman sustained life-threatening injuries in the accident, but sadly, her unborn baby did not survive. The accident occurred on East Tabor Avenue, not far from Manor Avenue, right around 7:00 p.m.

A pregnant woman was crossing a Fairfield street while pushing her toddler in a stroller on Tuesday evening, September 24th, 2024. As she crossed East Tabor Avenue, a vehicle drove through the intersection and struck her. 911 calls began pouring in and emergency personnel arrived at the scene within minutes. The Fairfield Police Department stated that the vehicle barely missed the stroller.

The woman was rushed to a nearby hospital where she remains in serious condition, according to reports. Sadly, the unborn child was killed in the accident, officers reported. The toddler was also injured, but officers said those injuries were only minor and the child is doing well.

Officers are working to determine what exactly happened to cause this traumatic collision in Fairfield. They do not believe that intoxication was a factor, at this time.
