San Diego, CA (August 5, 2024) While test driving an electric pickup truck at a San Diego dealership, the driver struck a salesman, according to reports. The accident occurred at a car dealership on Mission Bay Drive, right around 1:30 p.m. The salesman was seriously injured in the accident, officers reported.
A car dealership in the 4500 block of Mission Bay Drive was the scene of a terrible accident on Sunday afternoon, August 4th, 2024. Reports indicated that a customer at the dealership was test driving a 2024 Ford F-150 Lightning pickup truck. After starting the vehicle and putting it in drive, it suddenly lunged forward, witnesses reported. It struck a 31-year-old salesman who was in that area of the parking lot, throwing him on the ground.
Emergency crews quickly arrived at the scene and found the man on the ground, a small crowd around him. Paramedics arrive and rushed to his side, asking people to step back. The man had sustained a fractured skull and a brain bleed during the accident, officers reported. He was transported to a local hospital to receive treatment.
Detectives quickly began questioning witnesses at the scene, as well as the 54-year-old man who was behind the wheel of the truck. Officers are working to determine what exactly happened in that dealership parking lot on Sunday afternoon.
