SD Pedestrian, 67, Injured After She Was Hit in Emerald Hills

Pedestrian struck and killed in Van Nuys area of Los Angeles.

San Diego, CA (June 26, 2024) Yesterday, in the evening of June 25, a frightening car accident left a 67-year-old woman injured. She was walking in the Emerald Hills neighborhood when it happened.

At around 6:25 p.m., a 33-year-old man was driving a 2005 GMC Yukon down the road. He was heading westbound on 5100 Lenox Drive, according to the San Diego Police Department. Apparently, the sun was hitting the driver’s eyes, and he went to pull down his visor to block it. As he did so, he struck the woman on foot.

Many pedestrian accidents turn fatal, but thankfully, the woman survived. The vehicle was moving about 10-15 mph when she was hit. Unfortunately, she did suffer some injuries: a laceration to her scalp and a fracture to her left ankle.

Details are still emerging about this accident, but it’s presumed the woman was taken to a medical center for treatment of her injuries.
