Tajaldine Hassan Struck, Killed On 210 Freeway In La Crescenta

La Crescenta, CA (August 3, 2024) A pedestrian was struck and killed on Wednesday night, July 31st, in La Crescenta. Tajaldine Hassan was reportedly struck and killed on the Foothill (210) Freeway at approximately 9:00 p.m. Officers reported that the accident took place near the La Crescenta Avenue exit.

Darkness had covered the roadways of La Crescneta on Wednesday night, July 31st, as Hassan walked along the Foothill 210 Freeway. For reasons that remain unknown, Hassan began running on the freeway, according to reports. As he ran across the freeway, a vehicle approached. In the darkness, the driver didn’t see the pedestrian until it was too late. The vehicle struck Hassan, knocking him to the ground.

Emergency personnel arrived at the scene and found the pedestrian on the ground, unresponsive. Officers hurried to the victim’s side, ready to give life-saving treatment. However, Hassan had already succumbed to his injuries. With heavy hearts, authorities pronounced him dead at the scene and called for a coroner.

Officers investigated the scene and took a statement from witnesses, as well as the driver of the vehicle involved in this Freeway 210 crash. During the investigation, officers had to close all of the eastbound lanes of the freeway near the accident.
