Las Vegas, Nevada (February 15, 2024) Valentine’s Day ended on a sour note for one Las Vegas pedestrian. While crossing a street, the 48-year-old man was struck by a vehicle that fled the scene, officers reported. The pedestrian was left lying on the roadway with life-threatening injuries.
It was just before 9:30 p.m. near South Decatur Boulevard and West Charleston Boulevard in Las Vegas. A pedestrian crossed Charleston Boulevard outside of a marked crosswalk, officers shared. As he crossed, an SUV came down the road and struck the 48-year-old man. Most people would stop following a collision such as this. It is the law, after all. However, the driver of the SUV continued driving away from the scene until he was out of sight.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department received the 911 call around 9:30 p.m. and headed to the scene. They found the pedestrian lying on the road with life-threatening injuries. Paramedics performed life-saving measures and rushed the man to University Medical Center to receive emergency treatment.
Police officers investigated the scene and were able to obtain images of the vehicle that fled the scene. They have asked the public for help in finding this suspect and said the SUV, which is silver, would have a broken windshield and front-end damage.
