Menifee, CA (May 31, 2024) The community of Menifee was saddened following news of a pedestrian’s death on Wednesday night, May 29th. 25-year-old Victor Bellow was going for a run on Bradley Road when he was struck at approximately 10:00 p.m. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene, leaving Bellow alone with life-threatening injuries, officers reported. Sadly, Bellow, a Westminster resident, did not survive this traumatic accident.
As darkness covered Menifee, California, Victor Bellow went for a run. It was something he had done so many times and never gave it a second thought. As he ran near 28760 Bradley Road, a vehicle approached. Officers said it was a Hyundai Elantra sedan from 2021 to 2023. Right around 10:00 p.m., the vehicle hit Bellows from behind as he ran. The force from the impact, violently knocked Bellow to the ground. The driver didn’t stop, but instead, hit the gas and fled the scene, leaving Bellow alone with life-threatening injuries.
The Manifee Police Department and CalFire/Riverside County Fire Department arrived at the scene and found Bellow on the ground, unresponsive. Paramedics quickly began administering life-saving treatment, but unfortunately, his injuries were too severe. With heavy hearts, authorities pronounced Victor Bellows dead at the scene, near Desert Hills Road. A tarp was placed over his body and authorities called for a coroner to come to the scene.
Officers began gathering evidence and determined that the vehicle that struck Bellows was a Hyundai Elantra sedan. They are actively searching for the vehicle at fault and are determined to find it, and in turn, they hope to find the driver responsible.
