Reno, NV (July 10, 2024) A horrible accident took place in Reno on Tuesday afternoon, July 9th, leaving a woman in critical condition, according to reports. The accident occurred on Wedekind Road at approximately 2:00 p.m. when a pickup ran out of gas.
A man and a woman were traveling along westbound Wedekind Road on Tuesday afternoon, when the pickup truck ran out of gas. They placed the pickup in neutral, ready to push it off the roadway. The woman, who was sitting on the passenger side of the pickup truck, got out of the vehicle to help push it. Shortly after she stepped out of the vehicle, another vehicle came along and struck her, according to reports. The woman was tossed several feet before landing, hard, on the ground.

Police officers arrived at the scene and found the woman on the ground with life-threatening injuries. The man was with her and obviously upset. Paramedics quickly placed the woman into an ambulance and rushed her to the trauma center at Renown Regional Medical Center. Reports indicated that the woman remains in critical condition. The man was not injured, officers reported.
Police are investigating this collision and a tow truck was called to remove the disabled pickup truck from the roadway.
