LOS ANGELES, CA (May 19, 2022) – A person was killed on Wednesday night in downtown Los Angeles after being struck by what appeared to be an SUV according to KTLA 5.
The accident was reported around 9:48 p.m. around the 300 block of South Figueroa Street according to officer Cruz of the LAPD.
Officer Cruz says the collision did not appear to be a hit-and-run.
Aerial footage showed a white SUV near the scene of the accident with its blinkers on and possibly damage to the hood of the vehicle. The SUV was parked right behind a tent that police set up where the decedent presumably lay.
The details of the accident are currently under investigation, and the victim’s identity is also being withheld. We will update this story with more details as it becomes available.
