Wick was driving a white Audi while drunk on the northbound side of the 15 freeway in Ontario when he collided with a BMW SUV. The collision caused the BMW to roll over multiple times down a hill off the side of the freeway onto Jurupa Street where the driver of the BMW was killed.

The driver of the BMW was identified as 52-year-old Gary Boeldt.

Boeldt’s family said that Wick should never have been behind the wheel of any car while drunk, but unfortunately this isn’t the first time Wick has been arrested for DUI. According to news sources online, this is Wick’s fourth DUI.

As a result of the fatal accident, Wick’s Brewery has been closed for several days as they receive threats from the public regarding the owner’s irresponsible behavior.

UPDATE JUNE 13, 2022: Ryan Wicks was reportedly returned to jail on June 6 after a judge revoked his bail. Wicks originally posted $1 million bail on March 31 after being arrested for the killing of Gary Boeldt. Another bail hearing was scheduled for June 14.

District Attorney Jacqueline Rodriguez argued that Wicks had previous DUI convictions and was aware of the dangers of drinking and driving. She also argued that allowing Wicks to be out on bail posed a threat and danger to the community. As a result, a San Bernardino County Superior Court judge revoked Wicks’ bail and he was remanded into custody.
