Fremont, CA (July 18, 2024) A terrible crash occurred this morning that involved five vehicles.
It started when a big rig carrying refrigerated meat lost control on I-680 in the Bay Area. This happened at about 7:05 a.m. north of the Mission Boulevard offramp.
The big rig jackknifed, meaning its trailer swung to the side at an angle as the cab veered off course. It went about twenty feet before falling down an embankment.
Four other vehicles were involved in the crash, but details about those cars have not been made available. Tragically, one driver in one of those vehicles was pronounced dead.
It’s not clear if anyone else was injured.
