Paso Robles, CA (August 30, 2024) A fatal collision occurred on Highway 101 in Paso Robles on Wednesday afternoon, August 28th, 2024. 27-year-old Paso Robles resident, Brianna Mae Thomnas, was killed when her vehicle collided with a semi-truck just after noon.
Thomas was driving a 1990 Cadillac El Dorado east, when she began crossing Highway 101. As she did, she pulled right in front of a semi-truck that was driving north on Highway 101. The semi-truck hit the brakes but couldn’t stop in time, and slammed into the right side of the Cadillac. The Cadillac was pushed several feet by the semi-truck before both came to a stop in the middle of the highway.

Emergency personnel hurried to the scene and found the Cadillac completely smashed in on its right side. Debris and glass littered the roadway in every direction and the front of the semi-truck was damaged. Paramedics raced to the Cadillac, ready to give life-saving treatment, but Thomas was found inside, unresponsive. Sadly, she was pronounced dead at the scene, according to reports. The driver of the semi-truck, 44-year-old Justin Adams from Pahrump, Nevada, remained at the scene. He did not sustain any injuries in the accident, but officers said he was noticeably upset and cooperated with officials at the scene.
The California Highway Patrol is leading the investigation into this deadly collision and are determined to understand what exactly happened on that stretch of highway in Paso Robles. A tow truck was called to the scene to remove the damaged Cadillac and crews worked as quickly as they could to remove the debris and glass from the roadway.
