FORT TEJON, CA (October 12, 2022) – Kaylin Riolo, 30, of Emeryville, was injured in a motorcycle accident involving a big rig truck on I-5 near Fort Tejon.
The accident occurred on Sunday, October 9, at around 4:30 p.m. on the northbound side of I-5 near Lebec Service Road.
Riolo was a passenger on a 2007 Harley Davidson motorcycle whose driver was killed after colliding with a Hyundai Freightliner semi-truck. The male driver’s name has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin.
The truck driver was identified as Joe Riddle, 55, and was not injured in the collision.
Kaylin Riolo was taken to Kern Medical Center for treatment of her injuries.
Two of the northbound I-5 lanes were closed for five hours for clean up and investigation.
The nature and cause of the incident is still under investigation, but witnesses or anyone with more information are encouraged to call the California Highway Patrol Fort Tejon department.
