UPDATE: Randon William Cintron killed in Newport Beach hit-and-run crash

NEWPORT BEACH, CA (September 12, 2022) – A male bicyclist now identified as Randon William Cintron, 43, of Costa Mesa, was killed in Newport Beach by Adriana Bernal who fled the scene but was arrested later on, authorities said today.

The crash occurred about 8:30 a.m. Sunday on Jamboree Road at Bay View Way, according to  Newport Beach police Lt. Michael Schiavi.

The bicyclist was pronounced dead at the scene, Schiavi said.

The suspected woman and vehicle were located near Corona del Mar High School, in the 2100 block of Eastbluff Drive, the lieutenant said. She was detained and ultimately arrested.

Southbound Jamboree Road was closed in the area for several hours for the crash investigation, he said.

UPDATE September 13, 2022: The woman responsible for this crash has been identified as Adriana Bernal, 36, of Anaheim. Police say that Bernal was under the influence of a drug when the crash occurred. She has been arrested for the murder of Randon William Cintron and hit-and-run.

UPDATE September 14, 2022: A GoFundMe has been arranged for Randon Cintron’s family and loved ones. We’ve also just learned that he went by the name Randy to his friends and family. We at Accident News Now express our deep condolences to them.
