IRVINE, CA (September 26, 2022) – A man identified as Daniel Franco was killed and two people were injured today during a multi-vehicle crash on the 5 Freeway in Irvine that included an overturned big rig fire.
The man who died was 59-year-old Daniel Franco of Lake Forest, according to Orange County sheriff’s Sgt. Todd Hylton.
The crash occurred a little after 4 a.m on the southbound freeway at Jamboree Road, the California Highway Patrol reported.
Firefighters and paramedics dispatched to the location at 4:08 a.m. reported one person dead at the scene. Paramedics rushed two people, in stable condition, to a nearby hospital, the Orange County Fire Authority reported.
