PACOIMA, CA (AUGUST 3, 2023): A male pedestrian was killed after being struck by a hit-and-run driver in Pacoima on Tuesday night. According to reports by the Los Angeles Police Department, a dark colored sedan was traveling eastbound on Paxton Street when it struck the pedestrian, who was in his 50’s. The driver continued east.

Paramedics responded to the scene and transported the man to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His identity is being withheld pending notification of his relatives. Authorities are currently searching for the suspect.
The LAPD released a statement following the tragic collision: “Drivers are reminded that if they become involved in a collision, they should pull over and stop as soon as it is safe to do so, notify emergency services, and remain at the scene to identify themselves.”
