Bakersfield, CA (August 7, 2023) A 2-vehicle collision occurred Sunday night in southwest Bakersfield. The Bakersfield Police Department said their officers were called to come to an accident at the intersection of Panama Lane and Akers Road around 10:21 p.m.

One vehicle was traveling westbound on Panama Lane and the other was traveling northbound on Akers Road. The driver traveling westbound ran a red light and collided with the other vehicle. The driver traveling northbound suffered major injuries in the collision. The other driver, the one who ran the red light, suffered only minor injuries.
