SACRAMENTO, CA (AUGUST 18, 2023): 53-year-old Marcus Winkfield has been identified as the victim in the fatal Highway 104 collision that occurred Thursday morning.

Winkfiled was traveling eastbound on Highway 104 in a Honda Civic when witnesses report he suddenly traversed into the westbound lanes. He then collided head-on with a Dodge Ram pickup truck, the result of which fatally injured him.
Winkfield was an officer at Mule Creek State Prison, and was on his way to work when the tragic collision occurred. Authorities continue to investigate the nature of this crash.
