San Lorenzo, CA (August 29, 2023) A teenager was struck by a car on Monday afternoon and sustained minor injuries, according to the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office. The car that struck him was fleeing from the bank they had just robbed.

Numerous 911 calls came in on Monday about a robbery taking place at Citibank. After robbing the bank, the robber fled in a sedan. The Sheriff’s Office said this happened around 3:45 p.m. Officers chased the sedan, who refused to stop.
At the intersection of Via Granada and Via Cordoba, the sedan hit a teenager. Deputies, at that point stopped chasing the robber and helped the boy who had been hit. He sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital.
The bank robber who hit him is still at large.
